The fifth of 15 lakes I've paddled so far, this was one of the smallest. It would have been a longer adventure, had not a channel leading to another segment been overgrown and impassable.

My time on the water was also shortened by a storm I thought would blow over but didn't. Last place you want to be as a kayaker is in the middle of water holding a metal paddle while lightning threatens ;-)

Truncated as it was, this paddle was wonderful in its tranquility and natural beauty...I felt like I was in the middle of a living canvas.
On the water less than an hour, the 20% chance of rain quickly escalated...The sudden change in weather made for some amazing scenic views. Now the only person on this lake, I and this 'gator were caught in the pelting rain...After the downpour, I headed for the ramp, spotting lightning nearby.Seemingly done with the storm, I re-entered the water for another try at paddling the whole lake.I was greeted by dramatic skies......and surprisingly few wildlife sightings. While this photo doesn't do it justice, the pastel whispers in the clouds ahead took my breath away. This was my only disappointment...the channel to the final leg of my journey was impassable. On my way out of Tenoroc, I got to see these beautiful Sandhill Cranes dancing (a mating ritual).
