In search of good, healthy, soft food for Koji, I entered The Doggie Bag in Lakeland for the first time last week. Great place, great owners, great products. As it turns out, a great moment in time, as that is when I saw the kittens in their large cage. The good folks at The Doggie Bag teamed up with the SPCA to find a home for these kids. The older one had been there a while, because every time a younger, tiny kitten was put in with him, he was left for the cuteness of the little baby. I wasn't going to let that happen again...and I wasn't going to separate these two, clearly bonded and in love with each other. I promised to come back that Saturday and take them both home.
With a small fee of $50 each (all shots complete for the older one, first of two rounds complete for the younger one, and both already fixed...heck of a deal), our family has been splendidly enhanced by big brother Dashiell (Dash) Hammett and little boy Winston (Blue) Blood. For the record, they came to our home on July 17, 2010 at 8 and 3-ish months old.
