Not one to race, if it involves water, kayaks, and a beautiful Florida day, I'm happy to snap it. I was a volunteer photographer for this inaugural event, and with my friend, Tom Lucke, was posted at one of the most picturesque areas of the Winter Haven Chain of Lakes: the canal between Lake Cannon and Lake Howard. Before the race, I snapped some shots of the very cool bridge that connects the two sides of the canal. It is a private bridge, as it was originally created to link two brothers' properties. The side we were on was, at one time (for a very brief period) a vacation home for Burt Reynolds. It is now the home of Andy Thornal.
